Archos Android MID coming Q3 2009: HD, HSUPA and just 10mm thick

Archos have announced plans to launch an Android-based Internet Media Tablet, that would deliver not only the high-definition media playback of the company's existing range, but offer voice communication, wireless connectivity and access to the Android Market of smartphone applications.  The Android IMT measures just 10mm thick, and has a 5-inch high-resolution touchscreen, up to 500GB storage and uses Texas Instruments OMAP 3 platform for "laptop-like performance".

This year for Mobile World Congress was a rebirth of sorts, owing largely to the restructuring of Samsung’s release schedule, Sony’s continued success with their Z series, Nokia’s push of Android, and the next big wave of wearables. We’ve also seen brands like Lenovo and HTC push hard with devices that aren’t aimed directly at the top tier. Samsung began teasing its Galaxy S II for its US debut in August, while a white version was announced for the UK around the same time. Motorola confirmed that its Droid Bionic will launch in September and also arriving then is its 4G LTE upgrade for Motorola XOOM 3G customers.
