Best Buy talks about Apple HDTV customer survey

Yesterday, I mentioned that over the weekend a customer survey had surfaced on the Best Buy website that asked customers questions about an Apple HDTV. We wondered at the time if Best Buy had some inside information, or if it was just fishing for answers on what customers thought about the rumored product. If you recall, that survey outlined an Apple HDTV with a 42-inch screen, iOS HDTV with full HD resolution selling for $1499.

Apple TV still a hobby, says Tim Cook

Apple TV has long been considered a hobby by the late Steve Jobs and it still is for the Cupertino company, which reported spectacular earnings today for fiscal Q1 2012. During the earnings call, CEO Tim Cook revealed that 1.4 million units of the Apple TV were sold in this past quarter, a record for the device. But, it still remains very much a hobby for the company, although one that Cook says he can't live without.

Apple is tops in the connected set-top box market

The internet connected set-top box market isn't exactly the hottest market in the tech world right now, but it is doing decently. There have been some notable failures in this market such as the Logitech Revue set-top box that was discontinued with no replacement coming after interest in the device wasn't there. Much of the issue with that product was the price for the capability offered. According to Strategy Analytics, the clear leader in the connected set-top box market is Apple.

Latest version of Apple TV still selling well

I have the original Apple TV and I can say without a doubt it was a worthless device for me. I used it maybe three times and it sits crammed into a drawer unused today. The new Apple TV had some changes to make it smaller and work better and so far, it has proven to me considerably more popular than that original device.

Apple iOS 4.3 Available Now [Download Here]

This is the real one, not the beta, not the beta after the beta. Apple has today, just a few moments ago, released iOS 4.3, the newest operating system for its mobile line of devices. This update was said to have been slated for Friday, March 11, 2011, right alongside the release of the iPad 2, but it turns out they've decided to slip this newness out the gate a tiny bit early - perhaps to stir the masses?
