Apple Willow Glass “iWatch” smartwatch could be very curved indeed

Apple's much-rumored smartwatch could be the first broadscale implementation of Corning's flexible Willow Glass, potentially opening the door to an iOS-connected timepiece that wraps its display fully around the wrist. Speculation of an Apple-made Pebble rival resurged over the weekend with chatter that the Cupertino firm was working with Foxconn on a power-efficient companion device to the iPhone, featuring a curved glass screen. Exactly how curved that might be was unclear, but according to the New York Times the flexed wearable could be wrapped entirely about the wearer's arm.

Apple’s 3x3cm Touchscreen is the Real iWatch?

Do you remember the iWatch? It was a concept from ADR Studio, and it was something that they wished Apple would unveil at this year's WWDC. Obviously none of that happened, but that doesn't mean the concept from the studio wasn't out-right awesome. But, it didn't look like Apple was interested in doing anything that small with touchscreens. Until now. Thanks to some leaked images, it looks like Apple is busy working on something that utilizes a touchscreen measuring only 3x3cm.

Apple stock reaches all-time closing high

Earlier today Apple was granted a patent which fairly obviously suggested they would be creating a smartwatch in the near future. This patent number 8,808,483 does include "iPhone" in its description, but its claims do not assign it to a specific device, leaving it open to any similar device within reason - small enough for a smartwatch. Wallstreet thinks it’s obvious enough, anyway, driving the stock to over $100 for the first time since the stock split in early June of this year.
