Archos 80 G9 Hands-on and Unboxing [Video]

Archos 80 G9 Hands-on and Unboxing [Video]

It's time to look at another Android tablet here on SlashGear, this one coming correct with the first dual-core processor to exist on an Android tablet that's not a Tegra 2. This is the ARCHOS 80 G9 tablet, one of two, the larger being the 101, both of them holding basically the same set of specs inside. Will the kickstand on this lovely little mid-sized tablet make it stand up against the competition, or will it down in a sea of tablet-like devices? We shall see!

Archos Arnova 8 G2 Android Tablet Seen at FCC

The folks at Archos have delivered their newest iteration of the Arnova 8 G2 tablet to the FCC, showing off both internal views and accessories that will be included with the tablet as it reaches store shelves in the near future. This device has appeared at the FCC previously but has not until this point been seen by the public in photos as clear as what's been seen today. Two lovely silver rulers frame the device in all its glory in the main image here in this post.

Archos 70 and Archos 101 hands-on [Video]

Archos 70 and Archos 101 hands-on [Video]

Archos weren't short of new internet tablets for IFA 2010, though it's their Archos 70 and Archos 101 which stood out when we stopped by their booth earlier today.  Measuring in at 7- and 10-inches respectively, the two Android slates (running 2.1 right now, but set to launch with 2.2 Froyo) are certainly thin and reasonable feature-packed, each toting a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, 3D OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics accelerator and WiFi b/g/n.

Archos 28, 32, 43, 70 & 101 Tablets Announced, Feature Android in Range of Sizes

We can probably safely assume at this point that tablets are here to stay. At least for awhile. And considering the effort that Archos has already put into the Android-based "tablet" market, there's no surprise here that they've just pulled the curtain off five (5!) brand new tablet devices, all featuring Google's mobile Operating System. Ranging in sizes and prices, as well as plenty of Archos-based "improvements" to the User Interface, meet the family of new Archos tablets.

Archos 5 gets unofficial Maemo hack [Video]

Archos 5 gets unofficial Maemo hack [Video]

Maemo might be evolving into MeeGo, but it's going by a circuitous route that takes in some Archos 5 play along the way, albeit unofficially.  A group of Archos tinkerers have been persuading Maemo (in its Mer form) to run on both the Archos 5 Internet Tablet (usually found running Android) and the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet, and while it's not a perfect implementation it does at least function.

eviGroup Wallet Android MID on sale in May for €199

Since we've apparently entered the culling phase of the tablet story arc - goodbye HP slate and Microsoft Courier, we'll miss your shiny renders - it's good to know that devices are still entering production rather than being canned.  French firm eviGroup have just announced that their Wallet Android MID has entered production and should be on sale, for €199 ($264), from May.  Carrypad chased up some details from director Nicolas Ruiz, including how he sees the Wallet facing against the Archos 5 Internet Tablet and what sort of help they've had from Google.
