The folks at Samsung are continuing their device assault on the year 2012 with the Samsung Galaxy Player 3.6, the newest in an ever-expanding line of Media Players witha 3.6-inch display. This unit has a 3.65-inch TFT display at HVGA (480 x 320 pixel) resolution, reasonable enough for the controlling of media on the device, but certainly not sharp enough to compete for the most fantastic device of this size. This device on the other hand improves greatly on the Galaxy Players that have been released already (several months ago) by being as ideally sized and shaped for the palm as possible with an added dash of thinness for good measure.

Samsung has borrowed a leaf out of Apple's retail guidebook, announcing a deal with UK handset merchants Phones 4u to put a special Samsung-branded store inside its flagship London location. The new concession will open on Friday this week, and offer what's promised to be the largest range of working Samsung demo hardware available to the public. Meanwhile, Samsung and Phones 4u have apparently been coaching staff to levels of Samsung enthusiasm that presumably match Apple retail fervor.

This week the folks at Samsung have delivered a torrent of speaker systems to the world, including an all-in-one system code-named HT-E6730W. This system is what Samsung calls the Ultimate in Movie Theater Quality Entertainment in the Home and consists of a 1,330-watt 7.1-channel system with two tower speakers and four additional speakers to fulfill your ultimate 3D Blu-ray entertainment fantasy. Included in this system are swivel speakers mounted to front height speakers allowing you position them in a way that "sounds vertically cascade down onto the listener" - exciting stuff!

Samsung has been steadily expanding its audio equipment into the upper echelons of the audiophile range, and today they're adding to their line with three new pieces of seriously high-end gear. The DA-E750 Audio Dock, HT-E6500W Blu-ray 3D 5.1 Home Theater System and HT-E6730W Blu-ray 3D 7.1 Home Theater System all have impressively styled construction combined with vacuum tube amplifiers for rich, old-school sound production. Their new SMART Hub combines an external DVD disc drive and a conventional WiFi router, allowing connected devices to stream DVD movies and CD music across the local network. In a time when more and more Ultrabooks, netbooks and the like are making do without an optical drive, this could be an extremely useful addition.
