Acer R 13 Notebooks gets 6 kinds of convertible

This week Acer has revealed two new notebook lines, the Acer R 13 Series and the Acer R 14 Series, both of them coming with convertible form-factors. This means that the notebooks don’t just open and close, they convert from one usability structure to the other. The first Acer R 13 model, for example, works with an Exel Aero hinge, bringing on a "U-frame structure" which allows its user to fold the device into six different modes.

Acer Aspire Switch 10 review: 2-in-1 utility with a tablet price tag

Acer Aspire Switch 10 review: 2-in-1 utility with a tablet price tag

The 2-in-1 isn’t a new platform, but it is a questionable one. Do you need a computer that snaps off into a tablet? Acer Aspire Switch 10 hands-on: solid and light

We’ve got our hands on the Acer Aspire Switch 10 this morning and initial impressions are positive, with this device delivering a much finer connection that past Acer notebooks of the similar caliber. The Acer Aspire Switch 10 (SW5-011, the model we’re seeing here,) has great viewing angles - scarcely an angle we can’t see - and the picture is both relatively sharp (at 1366 x 768 pixels) and very bright. Coloration on the display is also fine, with not too much brightness in any one hue.
