HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy, HTC HD7 and HTC 7 Pro get official with Windows Phone 7

HTC has announced its range of Windows Phone 7 smartphones, with models set to debut in Europe on October 21 and in the US on November 7.  The HTC 7 Mozart, HTC 7 Trophy and HTC HD7 will all launch in the UK as carrier exclusives, while the HTC 7 Surround will be an AT&T exclusive in the US.  Meanwhile a fifth device, the HTC 7 Pro, will arrive in Europe later in 2010 complete with a side-sliding QWERTY keyboard and broad network availability .  More details after the cut.

Eston MID-05 MID and N97 UMPC arrive

It's all go at Eston's render labs this week, with two new tablets in the offing.  The company has sliced off the hardware keyboard from their MID-02 and produced the touchscreen-only MID-05, a 5-inch handheld running either Android or Windows CE.  If your fingers are too chubby for that, Eston also have the N97 MID, with a larger 7-inch touchscreen and integrated 3G. Is it the morning for Android-based MIDs?  Jenn over at Pocketables has turned up evidence of two devices both running Google's open-source mobile platform, in the shape of the Eston MID-02 slider and a video of French carrier SFR's M! PC Pocket running the OS.  Eston's device - which is also branded as the M4301 - has a 4.3-inch resistive touchscreen and can dual-boot Windows CE 6.0 and Android. Compal Tabasco is mysterious T-Swivel MID: coming to CES 2009?

The mysterious T-swivelling MID that was mistakenly identified by some as the Palm Roteo has been correctly traced back to Compal, in the shape of their Tabasco MID concept.  On show at Computex 2008 back in June, the non-working handheld was meant to demonstrate a 4.5-inch (or 5-inch) touchscreen device with a 3.2-megapixel rear camera with 2x optical zoom and flash plus a front-facing webcam. Archos 5G PMP, M! MID & Eee PC 901 3G+ all launch on SFR with HSDPA

French carrier SFR has officially announced three 3G-enabled mobile devices, the Archos 5g Internet Media Tablet, the M! PC Pocket and a WWAN-enabled ASUS Eee PC 901.  All have integrated 3G HSDPA modems, with monthly data subscriptions of €19.90/$25 (for existing subscribers; €24.90/$32 for new) on the Archos and M!, and €29.90/$38 (for existing subscribers; €34.90/$44 for new) on the ASUS Eee PC.  The Archos 5g has a 30GB hard-drive and new, SFR-specific menus and widgets. Archos 5g HSDPA PMP French pricing leaks

Archos' latest range of Internet Media Tablets, the 5 and 7, are on sale in many markets worldwide, but if you want the 5g version with integrated HSDPA you'll have to head to France.  SFR is so-far the only carrier to have publicly signed up to the WWAN PMP; their official launch is expected later this week, but they've been scooped by November's issue of Stuff magazine. Archos have been a discrete teaser campaign for an upcoming device, believed to be the 6th generation PMP that will have 3G high-speed mobile internet.  The company briefly ran this small image on their homepage, depicting the corner of a new device and the slogan "Coming up..."; however it was quickly replaced by a more generic image (shown after the cut).
