LG PRADA Phone K2 confirmed for early 2012

LG PRADA Phone K2 confirmed for early 2012

LG and Prada have confirmed plans to launch the third PRADA phone in early 2012, sharing some early sketches of the fashion-centric smartphone but refusing to spill technical details. The device - believed to be the Android-powered PRADA K2 first spotted on a leaked roadmap midway through this year - will be a combination of "style, design and breakthrough technology" according to the two firms, and certainly looks to do away with a physical keyboard.

LG Prada K2 caught on (blurry) video

LG Prada K2 caught on (blurry) video

Leaked video purportedly showing a (very blurry) LG Prada K2 smartphone has emerged, doing very little to dampen our enthusiasm about the incoming touchscreen handset. The clip, passed to Pocketnow, shows a brief glimpse of the slimline slab, which is tipped to use LG's NOVA technology for its 4.3-inch display and deliver 1,000 nits of brightness. To put that into perspective, the Super AMOLED Plus panel on the Galaxy S II is said to run at around 300 nits, and the iPhone 4 Retina Display at around 500 nits.

LG PRADA 3 to use Android; headed to Sprint in 2010?

Mark this down as a definite vague rumor for the moment, but there's talk that LG's next PRADA cellphone might adopt the Android OS.  The so-called PRADA 3 is expected to have a QWERTY keyboard and touchscreen, and it's also been suggested that US carrier Sprint will be offering the device.  If so, it would make this particular luxury smartphone the first carrying the PRADA name to use CDMA rather than a GSM radio.

LG Prada II and Prada Link Bluetooth Watch launch

LG have officially launched the Prada II cellphone, as expected, and it's brought along a friend in the shape of a Bluetooth watch, the Prada Link.  Like other such devices we've seen, it can show caller ID as well as preview text messages, without requiring you to whip out the handset itself (and promptly get mugged).  As we've already seen, the Prada II itself is a 3G HSDPA (900/2100MHz) device with WiFi, a 3-inch capacitive WQVGA touchscreen and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard.

SlashGear Review: LG Prada phone

SlashGear Review: LG Prada phone

LG's Prada phone rather upset the Apple-cart. Until the slender fashion-handset stepped into the limelight, analysts were happily joining up the dots between Synaptic's Onyx concept and Apple's iPhone, and fully expecting to see the capacitive ClearPad technology appear in Cupertino's long-awaited handset. Then out struts the LG, and all of a sudden the catwalk is decidedly more crowded than perhaps Apple expected it to be.
