HP adds Intel’s Ivy Bridge to six desktops

The last two days have seen a positive rain of new systems using Intel's third generation of Core processors, including an update to HP's well-received Omni 27. They just announced another five models getting the Ivy Bridge update: the 21-inch Omni 220qd and Touchsmart 520xt all-in-ones, the Pavilion HPE h8t and h8xt desktops and the top-of-the-line HPE H9t Phoenix. The Phoenix will be hitting online and brick-and-mortar retailers on April 29th, but the rest of the models including the new Omni 27qd will have to wait until June 24th for retail. HP Omni 27 all-in-one packs quadcore but no touchscreen

HP has revealed its latest all-in-one PC, the HP Omni 27, a 27-inch non-touch desktop with a choice of dual or quadcore Intel processors along with Beats Audio. While its 1080p display may not respond to the prod of your fingers, HP has still given the Omni 27 its Magic Canvas software skin for Windows 7, the UI formerly known as the TouchSmart suite but now updated to suit both touch and non-touch systems. HP brought just 8,000 TouchPads to its fire sale

HP's "sell out" TouchPad fire sale saw less than 8,000 of the webOS tablets change hands, official figures have confirmed, arguably making the slate sale more hype than substance. According to the single 16GB eBay listing and two 32GB listings (here and here), HP sold 2,316 of the $99 16GB TouchPad refurbs, and a further 5,534 of the $149 32GB models, for a total of 7,850 units. HP has revealed some new 3D hardware for fans of 3D content. The new gear includes a new 3D edition AIO computer and a new 3D display. The AIO computer is the TouchSmart 620 3D and it has high performance for 2D and 3D content. It has an integrated webcam that lets user make their own 3D movies and still photos that they can share. The HP Omni series kick things off, with the 20-inch Omni 120 and 21.5-inch Omni 220 priced from $399.99 and $799.99 respectively, but there's also the HP TouchSmart range with the 20-inch HP TouchSmart 320, 21.5-inch HP TouchSmart 420 and the 23-inch HP TouchSmart 520 priced from $599.99, $699.99 and $899.99 respectively.
