Apple faces $2bn Proview US lawsuit

Apple foe Proview is threatening to expand its legal battle over the iPad trademark to the US, revealing it is preparing to sue Apple for $2bn as the Chinese furore spreads to the Cupertino company’s home turf. Proview has denied Apple’s suggestions that the ongoing case is little more than extortion, with CEO Yang Rongshan arguing that ”we own [the iPad trademark] in China. If you were in my position … you would try to protect your rights.”

ASUS Transformer 2 tablet benchmarks leak with Tegra 3

NVIDIA Q4 Fiscal and Annual 2012 results show growth, great outlook

Today the team at NVIDIA have revealed their earnings for the entirety of their 2012 Annual and Fourth Quarter Fiscal season, showing quarterly revenue down, but every single other number rising up. This earnings call also played host to several announcements and assurances from the big green chipmaker, including the official announcement of Tegra 3 quad-core phones. The call showed revenue gains of 12.8 percent for NVIDIA over fiscal 2011 to a whopping $4 billion, and gross margin blowing up to 51.4 percent for GAAP and 51.9 percent for non-GAAP. ASUS Transformer Prime gets GPS-fix update

ASUS has quietly released a new update for the Transformer Prime, intended to address the persistent GPS issues owners of the Tegra 3 tablet have reported. The update, which can be manually downloaded and installed from ASUS' support site, bumps the firmware to v9.4.2.7, installing Ice Cream Sandwich in the process but also, according to users at xda-developers, unrooting the slate. ASUS’ Transformer Prime may only have gone on sale a short time ago, but the company has already prepared a new model, the Transformer Prime TF700T, with a 1080p-capable display. Set to take on Acer’s teased Iconia Tab A700 shown yesterday, the Prime TF700T has a 1020 x 1200 Super IPS+ display with Gorilla Glass, along with some changes to the front camera and some of the wireless performance.

Samsung counter-sues Apple with 10 patent infringement cases

Samsung had promised a counter-suit against Apple, and the company has delivered, filing a total of ten cases each alleging patent infringement.
