Bowers & Wilkins unveils the new PM1 compact loudspeaker

Bowers & Wilkins is a high-end audio company that offers things ranging from loudspeakers to docks for iPads and more. The company is known for audio quality and high prices for their gear too. The design of the PM1 speaker is very interesting and reminds me of cars from the 50's with all the fins on them. One of the main design elements is the Carbon Braced Tweeter on the top of the speaker that has a break-up frequency of 40kHz and an aluminum dome tweeter.

Philips has outed a three-strong lineup of new music entertainment systems, including a multiroom audio HiFi, a component HiFi system, and an AirPlay-compatible wireless speaker system that looks like the eggs from Alien. The Philips WiFi Multiroom HiFi kicks things off, with wireless support, USB access for digital tracks on a hard-drive, and a choice of the integrated color LCD touchscreen or iOS/Android remote apps for controlling it all.

North Korea GPS jamming systems can cause 100km deadspots

Bad news if you were planning to strap on a Garmin Forerunner 410 and head out for a quick jog around North Korea: it looks like the GPS watch won't be able to track your location while you're there.  According to Kim Tae-young, South Korea's defense minister, their surly northern cousins are rolling out GPS jammers capable of knocking out positioning signals in 50-100 kilometer radius.

Nintendo 3DS, 3DSWare and 3DSPlay trademarks filed

Nintendo have been pretty coy in confirming the name of their upcoming 3D gaming handheld - with president Satoru Iwata teasing that "the final product name shall be announced in the not-so-far-away future" - but it seems increasingly likely that they'll stick with Nintendo 3DS.  That's one of a handful of newly filed trademarks from the company, including "3DS", "N3DS" and, interestingly, "3DSPlay" and "3DSWare".

Philips is heading into the hi-fi game, with its new SoundSphere home stereo lineup.  The MCi900 and MCD900, will both set sail with two speakers, 100 watts of ample amplification, and “free floating” tweeters that are physically outside of the speaker enclosure, for better acoustics.
