Nokia has big plans for PureView, including thinner handsets and Windows Phone support, though there’s more than just branding that’s getting in the way of slimming the smartphone camera tech. We grabbed some hands-on playtime with the Nokia 808 PureView in Germany this week, at the headquarters of long-time photography partner Carl Zeiss, where we not only discovered just what the camera is capable of, but some of the decisions – technical, product and otherwise – behind the PureView concept. Foxconn is partnering with Sharp to build a new plant in Chengdu, China for producing iPhone displays. The long-time Apple manufacturing partner recently bought a 10 percent stake in Sharp worth $808 million and already owns a 46.48 percent stake in Sharp's liquid crystal manufacturing plant in Sakai, Japan, said to be the most advanced facility in the country.

Satechi has unveiled a new Bluetooth remote control that not only works for the iPhone and iPad from Apple, but will work with any OS device supporting Bluetooth. The remote control sells for $39.99 and is a smaller handheld device. The device supports Bluetooth 3.0 class II profile and will also work with computers for controlling multimedia video from across the room.

Everyone may be content using Google as their primary search provider, but Yahoo! still has a horse in the race. The company has unveiled its latest creation, dubbed Axis, a new browser designed to make searching more visual and intuitive. Dedicated apps are available for the iPhone and iPad, while Axis serves as a browser extension for Chrome, Firefox, and Safari on PCs and Macs.
