Screencheat wants you to cheat on Xbox One and PS4 next month

GoldenEye was the first console FPS that I ever played with friends. And by friends, I mean two friends and that one jerk that still picks Oddjob, even though we clearly stated "no Oddjob." This was also the first time I encountered screen cheating.

It's time for us all to come clean. We all looked at the other screens on occasion. Don't try and get all high and mighty, we know that you did it. Yes, I'm talking to you, Eric. The real rule of thumb is that it's okay to glance, but not to stare. But what if there were a game that not only encouraged you to look at your opponents' screen, but depended on it?

Screen cheat is a game for those who are addicted to looking at their opponents in a split-screen FPS. Every player is invisible, which makes it nearly impossible to play the game in a conventional manner. Instead, everyone has to rely on quickly glancing at the other player screens, in order to figure out where people are.

It sounds like it would be difficult, but after playing the same rotation of maps, you really start to learn the lay of the land. So a quick glance is all you need to scout out your nearest enemy. All of the crazy weapons are one-hit kills, so you don't have to worry that your prey will escape after a few measly hits.

The game has actually been out for some time on PC, but we all know that split-screen gaming was meant for consoles. That's why the game will be hitting both Xbox One and PS4 starting March 1, for just $14.99. You'll also be getting all of the DLC that PC players have gotten since launch, which makes the price a steal. And if your friends are too good to come visit you, there's online support, where you'll still see everyone's screens, just as you would if you were sitting next to them.
