John, everyone means it should read something like “Pluto, previously known as a planet, now classified as a dwarf planet…”

he’s correct. Its still known as pluto. Its classification from a full planet to a dwarf is the only thing thats changed. The author of this piece is wrong.

Nothing wrong with “Meego”. Absurd names can sometimes get you a lot of attention fast. Best example ever, “Google”.

“…the dwarf planet previously known as a Pluto.” If I am not mistaken, it still is called Pluto. What it was previously was a “planet.”

Pluto’s name hasn’t changed, just its status, so “dwarf planet previously known as a Pluto” is incorrect.

Of course the research is great. But the planetisimal’s name is the dumbest since Nokia decided to name a product “Meego”. No doubt it means something awesome in the language it comes from, there’s just this problem with English…
