Sceptre X405BV-FHDR 40-inch 1080p LED TV debuts

Sceptre has unveiled a new full HD resolution TV that has nice features called the X405BV-FHDR. This is a 40-inch screen HDTV that offers a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The TV has all the basic functionality that you expect from a modern HDTV.

You don't get any smart functionality, but the TV is offered at price of $399.99. The TV is available for that price at Walmart, Amazon, QVC, Sears, and several other retailers. The manufacturer website lists the TV at an MSRP of $699.99, but it is cheaper than that in retail stores. The HDTV is Energy Star V6.0 compliant and has an estimated energy cost of $12.30 per year.

The lamp inside the TV is rated for more than 30,000 hours of use. The X405BV weighs under 20 pounds and is 3.5-inches thick making it wall mountable in smaller rooms. The TV has a brightness rating of 250 cd/m2 and a contrast ratio of 10,000:1.

It supports 1.07 billion colors in 10-bit dithered mode. Viewing angles are 178-degrees horizontal and vertical. Sceptre builds the set with integrated ATSC/NTSC/Clear QAM tuners. The integrated sound system is a pair of 10W speakers. Connectivity options include component, composite, D-Sub, and three HDMI inputs.
