I am a previous Jott user that switched to SayType last month because I can now leave voice messages that are accurately converted to text for up to 2 minutes, instead of the 30 second limit with Jott. So far, my experience using the SayType service has been great! You CAN PREVIEW your message by not giving a destination at the beginning of your voice message if you must. This way, the message is sent directly to your phone as a text message. You can then “forward” the message to any contact in your phone, if you really feel the need. After you send a few messages and experience the service for yourself, you will no longer “feel the need” to review your messages before they are sent. Normally, I just say the two initials of my contact at the beginning of the message, and 1 to send a text or 2 to send e-mail, and my message is sent to a selected contact.

I pay just $14.95 for SayType’s UNLIMITED hand free texting, e-mail, and Internet service.

When I first started using SayType, I did send several messages to myself to ensure that the service really would recognize my voice correctly before sending messages to friends and superiors. The service work well. (there are a couple of letters “B” and “S” that don’t always work when I’m using my personal address book) What’s really cool is that I can select to have the transcribed message translated into several different languages. Also, this service provides other driving solutions and Internet search services that save me time and money everyday using my standard talk and text phone services free of charge including: traffic and weather conditions, travel times, and turn-by-turn directions and more.
