I really don't understand how they are choppy or how they require such strong hardware when they are only running web apps. Android devices run smooth on hardware half that capable and they run native apps. Chrome books hardware requirements should be next to nothing imo.

Perhaps they'll have multiple models. I've been happy with mine, but performance is occasionally choppy (as it always was with my prior wintel notebooks, anyway).

It would be nice if the new chrome games took off, I've been thrilled with the 'app' selection.

Isn't it the same one that was displayed at CES? I'm assuming that Samsung was using the latest Celeron (i.e. Sandy Bridge) and not some older chipset. The only problem is that even the most power efficient chips in that line are twice as power hungry as Atom rigs.

I like the concept google is going for with the chromebooks but they need to use arm chipsets and lower the cost considerably. At the existing $250-$300 pricepoint, they are competing with netbooks and tablets which are either more capable or more fun. If they can get the web-centric chromebooks into the $150 range they will be a huge hit for students and businesses or for elderly people.

If I could get one at that price, I would buy it for my mom since it is all she needs.
