SanDisk announces 64GB SSD drives

While it doesn’t have anything on the 256GB drive from PQI, SanDisk has introduced their 64GB SSD drive for notebooks.

The drive is built into a 1.8-inch housing with a parallel ATA connection, while they will also be making a 2.5-inch drive with a SATA connection. The 2.5-inch drive is meant as a drop-in replacement for current notebooks with typical magnetic storage.

SanDisk claims that this drive will cut down boot times of Windows Vista to 30 seconds. Which begs the question, how long does it take to boot up OSX? We should see these enter the market by the end of this year or the beginning of 2008.
