you are right with kingston cards i have a 4 gb sdhc kingston and it doesnt work on n95 when a i put more then 2 gb of data on it, its crap!

Do not buy kingston memory cards for mobile ohone when u add too much data it stops working it is a useless piece of junk buy memory cards from another brand not kingston

Just thought I would add that the card comes up as 8gb when I use my phone as usb mass storage device, but i cannot take any pictures with the card on external memory.

I just bought a Sandisk 8gb card for my LG Viewty, it wont work in my computer doesnt come up, and when I put it in my phone it shows as 4gb space 1. summat gb used and is showing as full, a also have a 4gb that does the same things as above, any help?

Added an 8gb Sandisk to my Nokia 5310 and it did not recognize the full 8gb, only 3.7 gb.

hey LG Secret KF750 seem to support 8gb, im using it, odds even so it say support upto 4gb…? why?well dun know but i buy sandisk microsd 8gb just to see if it work on my lg secret.. well it does.. haha damn im happy

I see that the 8g sdhc worked in the LG Viewty but i am wondering if it will work in my LG env9900? it has the micro sd slot but the manual is vague about which card is compatable.

I have the HTC-touch 3050 from Telus. You said the 8gb card works ok with HTC-touch from Sprint. Does anyone know whether there are any differences between the devices sold by Telus and Sprint? Anybody tried the 8gb with Telus HTC-touch?

To be clear about the product Mfr : SanDisk Mfr Code : SDSDQR-8192-E11M
SanDisk 8GB Micro SD (SDHC) memory card Class 4 (based on SD 2.00 Specification)
Available as Class 4 only to date. Still I’m getting one for my Viewty so will let u know in due course how it goes for me. See detailed explanation on these new cards at

Samsung have an 8gb Class 6 but it isn’t fully SD compliant. I won’t get one :)

No the N95-3 or N95 NAM (North American Version) does allow for micro SD, but the N95-2, otherwise known as the N95 8GB does not.

Yes it works! I used a SanDisk 8 GB micro SDHC. The LG Viewty shows you only 2 GB in the storage management, but however you have access to all data on your storage card.

But be careful! Do NOT use the formatting options of the LG Viewty! Because then only 2 GB will be available on your storage card in future! Also when you put your storage card into your PC by an USB adapter!! Only 2 GB will be usable! I made this mistake :(((

But this malfunction is reversible. You can use a special formatting tool on your windows PC:

Format your SC or SDHC storage card with this tool and you will get back the full capacity of your storage card.

Ja es funktioniert! Ich habe eine SanDisk 8 GB micro SDHC verwendet. Die Speicherkarte zeigt im LG Viewty zwar nur 2 GB in der Speicherverwaltung an, aber man hat trotzdem vollen Zugriff auf alle Daten der Speicherkarte!

Aber vorsicht! Man sollte NIEMALS die Formatierungsfunktion des LG Viewty verwenden. Denn die Speicherkarte wird dann so formatiert, dass nur 2 GB zur Verfügung stehen, selbst wenn man die Speicherkarte dann in den USB-Adapter und dann in den PC steckt. Auch das nachträgliche Formatieren mit Windows bringt dann nichts mehr. Es stehen nur 2 GB zur Verfügung. Ende. Diesen Fehler habe ich leider gemacht :(((

Allerdings ist diese Fehlfunktion reversibel, denn es gibt ein spezielles Formatierungstool für Windows-PCs:

Wenn man eine SD oder SDHC Speicherkarte mit diesem Tool formatiert, so erreicht diese wieder ihre maximale Kapazität.

So, und angesichts der unverschämten Preise von T-Mobile für das iPhone (rund 900 € in DE ohne Vertrag, wobei das in USA nur 400 $ = rund 320 € (!!!!!!!!) kostet), und der schlechten Kamera des iPhone (nur 2 Mpx statt 5 Mpx im viewty) sowie des viel größeren Funktionsumfangs im Viewty, was Klingeltöne etc. angeht, so finde ich, dass das Viewty die WEITAUS bessere Alternative zum iPhone ist.

One thing I notice using my new 8GB sandisk micro SDHC card with my new Sprint HTC Touch is that Windows Vista can’t see the card as a separate storage device for windows media player sync. However it does show up within the sync center. Weird.

PS: I got the distinct impression that the Nokia Techs were trying to steer me towards “Nokia released accessories” the whole time…never once did I honestly believe that the SanDisk cards wouldn’t work if Nokia implemented the MicroSD standard properly…which apparrently, they did!

I’ve had the N95-1 and I currently have the N95-3. I bought the SanDisk 4Gig card when I bought the N95-1, and it worked flawlessly…but they didn’t HAVE the 6Gig or 8Gig card available at the time. (Grrr…)

Now that they do, I definitely appreciate hearing that my prior thinking (despite Nokia’s claims to the contrary) was correct, and that the 6 and 8Gig card would work just fine with the N95-3…although there IS some question about the N95-1 which still remains, and I’d be very interested in hearing about that…as would a great number of other people, I’m sure!

Also, for those who are still considering a purchase, hit http://myspace.com/ElectroPig and you’ll find links for both the N95-1 and N95-3…both listed as “unlocked”, although in reality they were “never locked”…they really need to work out another term for phones which never got “hacked” by cellular carriers, don’t they?

Actually, the N95-3 DOES support microSDHC (it ships with a 1GB mSDHC card) – bought an N95-3 in Chicago Nokia store last weekend. N95-2 is the 8GB model.

HAHA!!! Further proof that motorola phones are utterly crap! The RAZR2 is very new, whereas the N95 was released earlier this year… and the RAZR2 still can’t cope with the new cards :P

With regard to the other brands though… my top three would be Nokia, SonyEricsson, then Samsung.

Beware! Don’t buy an 8Gb MicroSDHC card for a Blackberry based on this superficial review. Many users are having problems with the 6Gb MicroSDHC cards. Although the phone seems to detect the full capacity correctly, everything gets corrupted as soon as you write more than approximately 2.5Gb, and the card has to be formatted again. I have a 6Gb MicroSDHC card and can’t use it either. Check the Blackberry forums, there are plenty of reports.
