You can’t disable it. You can install different launchers, but there is some remnant left behind. Even on a rooted phones there are hardly any ROMs that mimic a totally pure Android experience. Samsung has never released the SDK for there TouchWiz so its hard to write it out of a ROM. Thanks for trying.

Did you know your AMOLED screen gains huge power efficiency with black? Black is AMOLED’s best friend since it consumes very little power. White kills your battery in no time flat. That’s why your browser has it’s own brightness setting as most of the web uses a white background. Google even released a mobile version of their site with a black background for people with AMOLED screens.

If you want a brighter theme my suggestion is to switch over to an HTC One X with a next gen of the Super LCD screen.

I just hope that new Galaxy S has a lighter UI. I like my GSII but this dark themed stuff is ugly and boring. It needs a fresh and new look.

Never again will I get a touchwiz UI phone from Samsung. Late to update if at all. Picking up a HTC One S on wed.

No-one outside Samsung has seen the finished article yet, hence all the excitement from true tech fans. Believe it or not not everyone is 100% Samsung, Apple, HTC, Nokia etc…

Personally I have an iMac and an SGS1, love the iMac and my phone. Got SGS1 as soon as it came out 2 years ago come June and my contract expires this June. I just love cutting edge tech and “mobilewise” Samsung usually comes up trumphs and beats the rest.

I reckon the upcoming SGS3 will do the same and after the almost euphoric speculation and leaks re the device for months think Samsung have been trying to pour a little scorn upon them.

Why would that be? Well one reason is that the follow up to the all conquering SGS2 isn’t that much of a step up, or that they have something special yet again and are wrong footing all the speculators.

Not too long now to find out.

P.S my money is on the latter!
