Would you rather go for a company that has relatively fewer flaws, or one that has lots of flaws and admits them, tries to change them, but still fails? Cuz htc still makes fugly phones, with no removable battery, no expansion slot, a bloated and laggy skin, and poor reception.

I don’t understand why anyone would even buy a Samsung. If I were after an Android, I would go for a company that admits it has flaws and makes the moves to correct them. That is HTC. On the tablet front, I would get an Asus. Why? Simply because its treating its customers like gold class citizens. Timley updates. Free GPS dongles. Innovative solutions.

This is exactly why they call you iSheep. iFanboys dont even compare all they can say is “iPhone” which fits the bill perfectly as a majority of them arent as tech savvy as a large majority of Android users.

I compare my experience with ICS and iOS 5 and I can tell you Android is in a different league now. If you master Android you will see how easy and how integrated the whole system is with the cloud, with your desktop and with other Android devices. Most people go for an iPhone because its “the fad” nothing more. If you’re an Apple lover yourself you will never admit this. Instead you will just be blindly defiant about why the iPhone is still the “hottest phone on the planet”. In the end all you do is give Samsung ammo for their next advert, lol.

people are just thoroughly bought-in to the Apple ideal. Many people are already using iphone as a substitute for the word “phone” when talking about it. For example, I have heard children at my high school say, “No cheating, he used his iphone to google it,” even though the other kid was clearly using a slide out keyboard phone. To be technical, the iphone has become entrenched in popular zeitgeist as the only or most common communication device; it is now used a pronoun in certain situations.

Still unfortunately, the iphone is seen as a status device. My knuckleheaded daughter couldnt see the value if the Galaxy s2…wouldnt have it. Despite the rest of the family’s deep dependence on Android, she had to go and be the defector isheep…full speed ahead with blinders on…

It didn’t overshadow any positive anticipation for me.
I actually found it quite funny they did the comparison.
And it’s a teaser – they aren’t supposed to spill any details.

I also salute Samsung for keeping the real design pretty safe, unless those blue and white renders from last month are true. I mean Apple couldn’t even keep their iPhone 4 safe – thety had to “lose” it in a bar.

How do you even know what their full marketing plan is? They haven’t even actually released the Galaxy SIII yet. Even though it’s guaranteed to be lightyears ahead of iPhone 5 in so many ways. The newest Exynos in this phone will be the absolute most energy efficient processor built to date w/o one single processor maker to compete with it in energy efficiency till end of this year. It will be the thinnest phone and have the absolute best largest brightest 320dpi screen on any device today.

So no wonder they’re using SHEEP to equate to ALL THEIR COMPETITION….. not just Apple. Nobody else is offering ARM’s BIG/little A7/A15 Quad Core coupled with a Quad Core Mali-400 all dynamically clocked with cores activated/deactivated on the fly according to processing needs, temperature, etc…… and that my friend is why they can use SHEEP for all their competition!!! :DDD

very well said. exactly what i had in mind. they should look HTC as a model, quietly brilliant indeed, trailblazing competitors by being the first in many categories, but they do not talk about it, nor make a big deal out of it. Samsung is full of air right now, i do hope they abandone that crappy plastic back, improve that uninspired brick design, overhaul that ugly as manure Touchwiz, and improve their service via quick updates when SGS3 arrived. Lets see if SGS3 can live up to his own hype, because if they cant even match One S’ tough yet sexy built, its S4 performance, its gorgeous UI, its sleek design, and the ImageSense, then Samsung is nothing but a huge joke, and an unprofessional, dirty-tricked troll.

Samsung does not design anything, they are just a manufacturer. ARM is the one that designs CPUs and GPUs, Imagination Technologies designs GPU for Apple.

Samsung absolutely copies Apple in everything, the first Galaxy S looks like iPhone 3GS, they were forced to modify Touchwiz because Samsung ripped off Apple so much.

What about S-Cloud Samsung is supposed to unveil, sound familiar?

More evidence of this is Apple’s focus on Suri rather than improving text input methods. I can think of no practical reason for Apple to not including Swype (the fastest way to input text on touch screen) except because to do it in retrospect would imply defeat. I have showed Swype to several iphone users and they are a bit curious about it – but more like an oddity, not for what it is – the very next step in text inputting that Apple missed the boat on.

But really what I think the poor-lunch-van-server-lady buying an iphone story is really about how Apple has succeeded in making normal people think they need high end. You can buy a decent Asus computer for $500, but why do that when you can get a super sleek computer for $1000. It’ll be 150% as good overall as the $500 computer but cost 200% more! Yeah!

Apple is no underdog in the smartphone business. Everybody who in times of WinMo smartphones figured they were too complicated and didnt get one from their company got an iphone. And their sister. Of course, as long as the avalanche of cheap dumbphones sold in emerging markets and Africa are factored in, the few tens of millions of iphones are enough to justify the use of “underdog”. Apple is no underdog. One’s not a techno Robin Hood by buying from Apple over Microsoft or Google. And if you’re in the business for a smartphone, the iphone is what “everybody” and their sister uses.
So in this the spot is spot on. Whether Samsung tainted its’ own teasers style with the jab is at the viewers discretion; For me it was a humorous point.
If you own an iPhone and can’t take a little jab like that, you should sincerely reconsider your self-regard.
If Apple made a spot with an Android user fiddling with his device, I’d consider it a fun point as well.
Better have them fight like that rather than in every courtroom around the world.
