Samsung’s HT-X810 Soundbar, which the company revealed at CES earlier this year, has now gone on sale. The unit, designed to sit underneath your TV and simulate surround-sound, musters 300 watts of output power and comes with a separate, wirelessly-connected subwoofer. A DVD player with 1080p upscaling is also hidden inside the casing, together with Bluetooth connectivity.

The presence of Bluetooth 2.0 means you can connect a cellphone, media player or computer and use the HT-X810 to play stored music. Meanwhile the DVD player is compatible with DivX video, CD, DVD-Audio, JPEG photo discs and discs containing MP3 or WMA audio tracks. An HDMI port hooks up to your TV.

Using the 5.8GHz band to connect to the subwoofer, the HT-X810 shouldn’t interfere - or be interfered with by - your WiFi connection. The casing has a piano-black finish. Although not yet up on Samsung’s website, it’s apparently priced at $699 through the usual retail sources.
