It’s right to chip away at the ‘artificial nightclub demand’ though because that’s all Apple really has. Spec per dollar wise they are pretty awful when lined up against Samsung’s Note. Android isn’t actually that hard to use, just maybe a little bit more difficult to set up. You can set it up to look and work just like an iPhone and it’s 95% as good at everything…then there’s the few things it does which the Apple can’t do at all. A lot of people don’t realise that there are other choices; often the layman with no tech knowledge just assumes that buying a smartphone means buying an iPhone.

You’re not any kind of IT guy for anybody if you just push Apple stuff because you can use it. A 4 year old can use Apple stuff; that’s how it’s made. If you were ‘the IT guy’ you’d think what they need a phone to do and tell them to get that not just push what you like on them. SOrry but this made me laugh.

The ad is clearly aimed at chipping away at the “artificial nightclub demand” of Apple’s iPhone and not really at the product. Samsung doesn’t quite have the brand cache and marketing savvy to generate lines of its own, so they trying to “reason” with illogical desire for consumers to hold out for a phone with nearly the same capabilities, but wity less variety than Samsuung’s Galaxy lineup. Sort of like Toyota telling Porshe customers that Toyotas also commute to work, have air conditioning and a better nav system.
It might not ween away Apple customers, but stem the slide to Apple for those who are awaiting their Blackberry, HTC EVO contracts to end

I really like these ads. The first one was better but over all this is a very clever ad campain by Samsung.

These are great ads. I have an iPhone 4S with no plans to switch, but I can appreciate that Android has its advantages and there are reasons people like it. Great ad. Would be nice to think both camps can have fun with it instead of breaking down into grade school insults. We’ll see.

I can agree with this. I am a droid guy and I have to say, I do regret pushing my girlfriend to a droid too early. I feel comfortable doing it now with android 4.0 but before, I hate to admit, it was simply too technical for the non techy.

I am constantly helping my girlfriend fix issues which actually aren’t issues, simply because she doesn’t understand terminology on how to fix things related to things such as wifi. It also didn’t help that the phone was a used x10 because her berry got lost mid contract. I didn’t realize before I got it for her how awful the touch sensors were on it.

So, I think I would push her to get another one, although she is now reluctant because of the souring experience of the x10. I think the new xperia S in white would be a perfect girl phone and with android 4.0′s ease of use, I think it would be the best option. IOS is simple, but she has become accustomed to using widgets and homescreens now and I think she would just be frustrated.

Funny thing that someone else mentioned on another site, the guy at around 0:20 looks to be behind bars(jail) and is wearing stripes(old prison uniform). Could be some subconscious play on how “locked up” the iphone is. Or unintentional and it just happened to work out that way.

I hope Samsung isn’t counting on this to bring them costumers, my OG Droid had turn by turn. I’m fine with my Waze app until Apple brings Siri over to the Turn by turn navigation game.

I’m an apple user (iphone, mac) and I find this fun.

To be honest, anyone with a smart phone has much more functionality than someone with a brick phone (you know, the ones that just make phone calls). When the brands start pushing feature a or feature b as a reason to be superior, I just stop and think as a consumer: Which one works the easiest with my tech setup?

Being a personal Apple user, and being the IT guy for both my family and my in laws, I push them to get iPhones because I can help them when there is issues. Everyone enjoys the ease of use (finally got my inlaws smartphones just last month!!!). If I were a droid guy, I’d likely push droids on them all for the same reason.

Currently, with my keen sense of direction, and the fact that I tote a laptop with me everywhere I go, the particular feature highlighted in this commercial doesn’t sway me towards Samsung, but I can’t speak for everyone :)

I feel like this ads can apply to any high end Android, and yeah you feel good about having one of them. I’m with motorola right now but Samsung’s commitment to its costumers with regular updates are really something to look when thinking of my next phone.

Ill probably get a Samsung… or an Asus if the padphone gets to Mexico :)
