Samsung Z3 tipped for 5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen

Samsung is tipped to be working on a new smartphone that will be powered by the Tizen operating system. The very first smartphone that Samsung launched running its Tizen OS was the Samsung Z1, which was an entry-level device that wanted to compete with basic entry-level Windows and Android devices. Rumors are now swirling that Samsung is working on a replacement for that device called the Samsung Z3.

Some specs of the Z3 have leaked that claim the device will carry model number SM-Z300H. The smartphone is tipped to run Tizen 2.4 and to have a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED screen. A 1.3 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7730S processor is tipped to be paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage.

The rear camera of the smartphone will be an 8MP unit fitted with autofocus and LED flash. The front camera will be a 5MP unit and both the front and rear camera will have 1/4-inch sensors. Dimensions for the Z3 are pegged at 141.5 mm H x 70mm W x 9.5mm D with a weight around 140g.

Power will come from an 2600 mAh internal battery. The device is also expected to have dual SIM cards, which is common with low-end phones aiming at the emerging markets in places like India. In fact, we already know that the Z3 has been imported to India for testing thanks to data in the Zauba tracking website that shows five units having been imported. Samsung is expected to launch the Z3 in the second half of 2015.
