Samsung’s latest Touch of Color LCD monitors have finally launched, three months after the first two reached the market.  Intended for your desk yet offering a TV distraction courtesy of the built-in ATSC / ClearQAM tuner, the T240HD and T260HD both offer full 1080p on 24-inch and 26-inch panels respectively.

Inputs include HDMI, and they each have a 5ms response time, 10,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and optical digital audio socket for Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.  If you’d rather, there’s a pair of far more humble 3W speakers built in.

The monitors both include Samsung’s MagicColor intelligent color control and MagicBright Dynamic Contrast control, and have transparent bezels.  They’re available now, priced at $549 for the T240HD and $599 for the T260HD.

Reportedly, the T260HD is *not* HDCP compliant. This means very few people are going to be using this monitor with their PS3s or Blu-Ray players. It also undercuts the versatility of the monitor/tuner and makes it useless for many of us.

Xolan, I’ve asked Samsung about this and they’ve confirmed that the Touch of Color displays are all HDCP compliant:
