Samsung will be showing its latest LCD panel with 240Hz image frame rate next week. The prototype Samsung will be demonstrating is a 15-inch panel at the SID (Society for Information Display) 2008 International Symposium, Seminar and Exhibition, which takes place in Los Angeles from May 18 to 23.

Samsung codenamed the new LCD panel technology as “Blue Phase”. It includes image-processing technology that will provide more natural image movement at 240Hz.

Samsung said the technology wouldn’t be in mass-production until at least 2011, so until then we are stuck with 120Hz driven panels; I personally think 120Hz provides enough smooth and natural movement of pictures, but faster is better right?
