Samsung’s SPH-P9000 UMPC grabbed hearts and attention at the end of last year bringing a new level of twisty, bendy, foldable loveliness to the ultraportable table. Now their follow-up, the SPH-P9200, has broken cover - it might look pretty sparse on specs, but the low-voltage VIA processor should manage some decent battery life. Chippy over at UMPC Portal has managed to dig up the user manual [pdf link] and of course there’s a video (after the cut) of the device in action at GITEX 2007.

Ignore the processor and take a look at the networking options - HSDPA, WiFi and WiBro - and imagine yourself playing on your lovely UMPC wherever your heart leads you. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on one!

I agree this is the perfect mobile laptop for basic business users! I’ve wanted a touch type jacket size device forever and this just might be the first such unit! Where can we purchase them in the US?
they look cool how much do they cost and where can i purchase one
I’ve read estimates that range from $1500-$2000 and so far it looks like it will only be available in Korea for the time being. I’m disappointed on the standard battery though… maybe just me but I think the standard should be giving approx 5 hours of run time.
What do u think it cost ?
I’m using eee Pc Asus - -*
This is the best UMPC so far! I was wondering when companies would realize a thumb or pen input is not enough for full windows programs. I hope they release it for international sales soon. This is a lot better than their Q1 or even their new Q1U-CMXP in my opinion.
This is the first usable UMPC I have seen so far. I hope these are available soon as I really would like to buy a computer that I can carry everywhere yet has a real keyboard. I think all of the computer companies should learn from this model on what kind of UMPC would sell. I agree with others here, I HATE thumb keyboard! UMPC’s run normal desktop software so when has there ever been any demand for a thumb input when your using desktop software? Never is the answer.
Great design and I would definately buy one.
