Amazon has begun taking preorders for the Samsung SP-H03 palm-sized pico projector, though currently there's no estimated shipping date. Priced at $299, the SP-H03 runs at WVGA (854 x 480) resolution and has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio - decent for a pico - together with 30 Lumens brightness.
There's also 1GB of onboard storage, together with a microSD card slot for adding capacity, and a mono 1W speaker should you prefer not to use headphones. Connectivity includes VGA, USB and composite video input, and the onboard media player can cope not only with video files but Office documents and PDFs, potentially making the SP-H03 a useful little briefcase companion.
Battery life is around two hours, so good enough for a film with perhaps even a little to spare. Not as small as some pico's we've seen, certainly, but the slight spec advantage could make this a more tempting proposition overall.
