It is waisting of money. TV matrix is the most expensive, the most
unrealiable and at the same time it is none repairable component in TV.
So if it is brokendown you lose all that funky TV compnents alltogether. So if you
want to avoid loosing money, just take regular oversized monitor or
cheapest TV having only TV tuner inside and connect it to any media
center of your choice.

Application sound like Apple Siri, LG had got similar feature in its LM8600 smart magic remote; we can use our voice commands to operate TV interface. Last week I read an article regarding LGs voice command and gesture control feature in its future Smart TVs. I wonder how these apps would perform in these smart display screens!

I think Samsung just wants to look cool. Clicking a button saves a lot of time. Trying to talk to TV to change channels sounds stupid.

I find Samsung Smart TV's menu complex and intimidating so I like the fact that Samsung combined the face, voice, and gesture controls. However it does not resolve the confusing interface of the Smart TV. I've talked to sales people in the electronics stores and research on the internet and most of the Smart TV menus are something that new users need to get themselves used to. Though I must say that LG dashboard is the most-friendly among TV graphical user interface/smart tv menus out there. The division of apps is clear. You can quickly see live TV, the favourites on the card in the middle, then you have the cool stuff on the right. Plus it has a ticker at the bottom showing all the functions that you need to accessible anytime.

Wait till Apple repackages the same concept found on the Smart TV. Along with a multi-million marketing campaign showing how Apple created the gesture, voice, and face recognition. Making TVs revolutionary.

I'm not surprised that Smart TV usage is really low. I plugged mine in to try it out. It has a worse selection of video apps that I wanted to use than my PS3 and was really slow to respond.

If they can get the content and responsiveness I would happily use it. I think the apps are created by the content providers, which could be why they are often missing. I know for a fact that 4oD in the UK has been "coming soon" to the Samsung Smart TVs for at least 6 months
