So you’re not buying into any of this convertible tomfoolery, but do want a touch screen on your next Ultrabook, in which case Samsung will have you covered. The Korean company has also shown off the Series 5 Ultra Touch at Computex, which as you might expect, is a Series 5 with a multi-touch display, designed to be used with Windows 8.
The 13.3-inch Ultrabook has a 1366x768 display and is equipped with a 500GB HDD and 24GB boot SSD for start-up times of 16 seconds. The Ultrabook will be around 0.77-inches thick, and weigh around 3.8 lbs. Samsung say that you should be able to squeeze 7 hours of battery of out the laptop all in all.
The Ultra Touch has the same ports as the Ultra Convertible: one USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, Ethernet, HDMI, and an SD card slot. Samsung say both laptops will be coming to the United States, but as always failed to mention when, or for how much.
