Samsung receives 27 CES 2013 Innovation Awards

Samsung has announced that it received 27 CES 2013 Innovation Awards. Standing out amongst the 27 were six honors: two for Best of Innovations, and four for Eco-Design. This builds on the 117 awards the Korean company has received over the last four years. The honors are bestowed by a panel of judges who comprise a variety of fields, including designers and engineers.

The winning products span a variety of categories, and include mobile phones, tablets, home-theater systems, home appliances, servers, software, and computer hardware. All of the products will be revealed on January 7 at the company's CES conference, which will be held at the Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center. CES 2013 is scheduled for January 8 to 11.

Samsung's 85-inch UHD TV received one of the two Best of Innovation Awards, offering "life-like" picture quality via a display boasting 8-million pixels. Also in the lineup is the Galaxy S III, which has sold 30 million units since its release, as well as the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet. Other devices include the Exynos 5 Dual processor, the Series 9 Premium Ultrabook, and the Samsung Smart TV Camera.

Samsung's President and CEO Y. K. Kim offered this statement. "Samsung continues to create superior industry-leading products, content and services. We are honored that CEA and the industry have recognized this commitment, and we look forward to demonstrating our latest product innovations at the 2013 International CES."
