LOL!!!! It’s ok for Apple to sue everyone for absolutely RIDICULOUS patents.

But when a legit company sues for REAL technological patents it reaches “antitrust” levels and Apple crys itself into a corner.

What a load of HORSE APPLE <—see what I did there?

Suing because you created the technology that allows a device to communicate wirelessly has 10,000x more traction in my books than suing because a device has "visible icons when screen is turned on" and a "border around the edge of the screen".

Doesn’t appear that samsung has a leg to stand on and may have dug themselves a deep hole asking for exorbitant license fees. The EU does not tolerate such anti-competitive practices well.

Yes, Apple started the patent war with the overgeneralized patents that are the current problem with the patent system. Already there has been congressional action in the US to change the patent system to correct the new wave of “what can we get away with using our lawers?” attitude in patenting ideas that have been used in other platforms for your new platform.

To apply concepts that have already been used in computers to your new device and patent them to try and stop others from being able to compete is plain outright wrong. Now others are hitting back with patents on actual technology developed vs. concept patents that were stolen from previous generation computing systems.

While I think all this patent shenanigans has gone to far, there is an element of “you started it” against Apple.

BTW Slashgear I have to say you have really been pulling out the stops on your reporting. Its fresh, unbiased and a great read, well done.
