Samsung Officially Responds to Apple's Euro Galaxy Tab 10.1 Sales Block

In an official response sent to us just moments ago, Samsung has responded to earlier reports of Apple stopping Samsung from selling their Galaxy Tab 10.1 dual-core Android tablet in essentially the entirety of Europe, having run an injunction against them in Germany. Kim Titus – Samsung Director of Public Relations – has responded by saying that they, Samsung, will take all necessary measures to make sure their intellectual property rights remain in tact.

Samsung's official response, spoken by Director of Public Relations Kim Titus, takes care to note that the discussion at hand is in Germany and should "in now way influence... other legal proceedings filed with the courts in Europe and elsewhere. His full response is as follows:

"Samsung is disappointed with the court's decision and we intend to act immediately to defend our intellectual property rights through the ongoing legal proceedings in Germany and will continue to actively defend these rights throughout the world.

The request for injunction was filed with no notice to Samsung, and the order was issued without any hearing or presentation of evidence from Samsung.

We will take all necessary measures to ensure Samsung's innovative mobile communications devices are available to customers in Europe and around the world.

This decision by the court in Germany in no way influences other legal proceedings filed with the courts in Europe and elsewhere." – Kim Titus

The court case in question is currently taking place in the Regional Court of Dusseldorf and due to pan-European law, affects the sales of products across the entirety of the European Union. This means essentially everywhere in Europe except for the Netherlands. Have a look at our earlier post for more details on the case.
