Jeez dude! You've got your head so far up somewhere dark that all you can see is a bitten fruit! What you described about Android is exactly what Apple has done to you and millions like you. Android phones are not cheap, you clueless baboon! There are cheap ones, but there are phones that are almost as expensive as the iPhone. That said, there are millions of people that want a choice, variety, an identity if you like. Carrying an iPhone is much like carrying a passport, all look identical except your picture. People are not addicted to Android, its just that it works for what they want from their device. I've personally come from iPhone to Android, so i can talk from experience. Although the iPhone is a great device, its not for everyone. Not everyone likes to be told what to do, people like their freedom and choice. Not everyone is tech-phobic and wants a dumbed down grid of app icons.

And I don't know when was the last time you saw an Android phone, but for the last year or so, mid to high end Androids have improved a lot on the UI side of things. And no, Android phones are not slow at all. In fact, most high-end Androids launch apps faster than the iPhone 4 or even 4S. That's your deluded view of it. Keep your delusions to yourself, 'cos people won't really buy into your hate.
So flush your head and stop calling Android users "cheapo". You know you sound like a typical high-headed, snotty dick when you talk like that.

Dude. What is WRONG with you? I know people with iPhones too. I understand why they like them, the user interface is INCREDIBLY pretty. They have an easy time using it. The interface is snappy and simple. The applications that come with it are great. My friends are fans of electronics, so we show eachother stuff on our phones all the time.

I love customization. So while I know iPhones offer a simple way to do things, there are still ways I'd PREFER to do things. Thus I got the option that lets ME set it the way I personally prefer it.

If Android vanished tomorrow, I could use an iPhone, I'm not allergic to iPhones.
And Android, while having gained my respect, is no addiction.

I'm the person that would rather buy a car I could tinker with and improve, than get a car where you can't open the hood and try new things with it. It's as simple as that. You're entitled to a preference, and I would respect that in you, just as I do respect my friends decision to go with iPhone. But you can't even seem to accept that people could enjoy Android for the reason that they do.

I was playing Infinity Blade yesterday. It was amazing. I'm a "fandroid" that sat on an iPhone for two hours.

I've done my part over the years. I've used the iPhone. I know what I do and do not like about iPhones. I've had the money to buy it, but chose the other "cheaper" option that was the same price.
Now, WHAT DO YOU KNOW about Android? What do you ACTUALLY KNOW about it? Have you tried out ICS yet? Please tell me you know what it stands for? Have you checked the settings to see if you actually enjoyed customizing it? Have you taken a second to try some apps, play some games, change some colors, or add or remove some homescreens? Or do you just shout "Cheap crappy knockoff" but not know what you're talking about?

You gotta testdrive a car before you know which one to take off the lot.

I think you test-drove one car, liked it and ran with it. Which is fine. It works, you know you like it. But you can't knock the cars you know nothing about.

"BTW how does it feel that other horse sh** on your Android device, also called Adobe Flash mobile browser plugin, is no longer going to be supported by Adobe? How does it feel getting crushed by a decision heavily influenced by Apple? It sucks does nt it?"

YES it does suck. It is Apple's fault. And it's wrong that they did it.

My horse sh** doesn't encourage knocking down popular things like Flash because it has an open standard.

You are HIGHLIGHTING why people hate Apple. They were pricks to Adobe. I am a digital artist.
Even more reason for any artist to hate Apple.

Their sway on the market equates them to being a bully, and it shows in the fact that they are available on all the major carriers but t-mobile, and Android has still surpassed the iphone. Even with similar price-points. Sometimes people are even shelling out more for Androids. My room-mate imported the Galaxy Nexus from Europe. Why? Because it's an incredibly well-designed product.

They don't have room to bully anymore. You need to improve your product, and make it better for the user. Patent trolling and knocking companies that won't conform to some horrible set of rules will leave you in a bad position.

That is where they are right now.

Maria,

A true Fandroid cheapo ( or a closet one like you) can never understand the importance that simplicity provides. The closest analogy I can think of a Fandriod cheapo is that of a misguided cheap car salesman who tries to sell a stick shift car to his customers as being superior to automatic transmission cars just because it has more gears than one! A Fandroid cheapo will like wise advertise all the pointless customizations that he can do with his cheapo Android device to show off how superior he is with his device than an iPhone user! He will use this argument further to show off how intellectually superior he is.

Simplicity is the greatest sophistication- for the likes of common people who also include super specialists in other areas simplicity matters. But a Fandroid cheapo will never understand this.

Coming to the point that current Android phones being expensive- well that's what you get when someone gets addicted to like crack cocain. First Android device makers give cheapo devices to compete with Apple. Now that a Fandroid cheapo is fully baked they offer expensive stuff - doing the same pointless customizations so that a cheapo Fandroid can experience the feeling of intellectual superiority!

Today Fandroid cheapos are so deluded from reality that they fail to see how STUNNINGLY slow Android makes their device - yet like lemmings they buy the same crap ware because Google wants you all to believe customizations is a big deal- just like the car sales man who sells cheap stick shift cars. Benchmark after benchmark show Android devices with 100% percent more ram, with upto 50% faster processor speed are slower than competing offerings by Apple. Now incredibly many high end Android phones are more expensive despite being stunted by Androud OS. Yet like lemmings Fandroid would lap them up. This is a picture perfect definition of what a fully baked cult member would do. I.e buy what their masters want them to buy- thence you become a Fandroid.

I agree that Apple makes quality stuff and the OS is very useful for those simple minded types who get confused easly, people like you as a matter of fact. And by the way, why do you call yourself ‘ThunderBone’? Is that what you get while your staring at your Steve Jobs poster you have taped to the ceiling above your bed? or is that what i’ll find when i look up the definition loser?

This looks nice. I was debating whether I should buy gtab 10.1 now or not but this just about tells me to wait. With A15, I guess I have an option of smoothly running ubuntu and maybe xdevs will figure out how to run windows 8 on this tablet which will be a great use for me!
In either case, who decided to take a picture of ipad and put samsung on it and use it on this article? Couldn't they have just used a picture of gtab 10.1?

5250 (dual core cortex a15) is better than 4412 (quad core cortex a9) in almost all aspects and fields except the tasks/apps that really trully fully utilize all the multi core.... even then theres way less difference than there is between dual a9 and quad a9 because each cores on a15 would run so much faster than the cores on that a9 quad. for example quad core a9 is no where near twice as fast than dual a9 but dual a15 is actually more close to twice as fast at same nanometer process and same clock.

Well, moar coars!!!11 means each core can run at a proportionally lower frequency to get the same overall system performance. By running at that lower frequency, they can run at a lower voltage. Power is proportional to both voltage *squared* and to operating frequency, so by running at a lower voltage and frequency four cores can actually consume less power than two, despite having the same level of performance. If you increase the frequency and voltage to get the power back to where it was with two cores then you can actually have a higher overall performance.

That isn't to say there aren't any trade-offs, indeed there are. Each individual core is lower performance and you're paying for the larger chip with more transistors. But... transistors are always getting cheaper so it's actually not a bad idea, and as it turns out 800 MHz-ish tends to be good enough for a single core.

(and yes, I am an electrical engineer masters student that hopes to get a job at a company like AMD)

Wow - by that time, Microsoft will have Windows 8 beta out... and that will be able to be on slates.
Oh and run REAL programs as well as Flash ( yes just not on both IEs)
oh and use just about any peripheral as a real computer can.

Funny how the best Apple can do is try to make its resoulution better ( when it really doesnt make a difference past a point).
