Android has released 1? Tablet in the US running a beta OS.

Once the galaxy tab and the next generations of tablets launch with Icecream sandwich complimented by their phone counterparts......Lets just say its all down hill from there.

Considering you already only have 80% of a market share you are the only player in..... you should be scared.

Absolutely, I've dinked around with many brands of gadgets, then I finally bought an Ipod..then an Iphone..Now I've ordered an Ipad 2..Just waiting for it to arrive.

Maybe I'm getting old, but I like the way they just work. They work wonderfully, they look good, they use the same adapters and interface, you can buy tons of apps and aftermarket accessories.

Maybe some of the others are better...I am happy with my Apple products...they just work.

do you even know what he meant by restrictive? do you know what open and closed source is? and the only reason there are more people with iphone ipods etc is because of marketing. apple has been around forever. and they make every computer a little version of mac os just for it and then they make it so theres no way to do anything to change it. so retards dont slow it down or break it. they think "FAST COMPUTER GOOD" and so they carved a niche for idiots. and they continued to steal ideas from creative when they built the ipod. it worked... they continued making them. and when people started innovating with better sound quality (cowon) and a better web and app experience (archos) they made the ipod touch... the worst peice of trash i have ever seen. but people only know what is put in front of them. the ipods, and then the $40 button based mp3 players and due to the "success" of their selfish OS everyone bought them . the only thing that could defeat it is if another giant took a stab at them. microsoft tried but they have a bad reputation because idiots use limewire and install toolbars and dont know how to take care of a computer and it slows them down. and they continue to blame microsoft. not to mention the zune isnt a very good device anyway. but the second attempt was made by google. this time an OS with the ability to do anything. completely open source. giving everyone that asks the tools to build the OS from the ground up if they wanted. (like cyanogen) and when samsung (o samsung how we love you so) found this little operating system... they married it with an arrangement of things fit for even the pickiest techys... in the original samsung galaxy s there was the best screen, the best sound (wolfson chip with headphone and dac), the best processor and gpu, and one of the largest batteries. not to mention its backed by all the lovely google software.
but... sadly the iphone.... outsells it... with an inferior... everything. because people are sheep. they dont know whats best... and in the end they want what everyone else has and everyone else doesnt know...
and then the sgs2 was released.... again taking the cake in every aspect (sound im not sure yet but not everyones an audiophile like myself)

popularity means nothing in the tech world. dont ever use that as an argument. its only valid in app support. but android has plenty of that.

Android has more sales because they are on more carriers. If the iPhone was available on all 4 carriers from the start, this wouldn't even be an argument. Is this Apples fault? Absolutely, but Android only being barely ahead and being on twice the carriers isn't really saying a whole lot for Android. And also, if Apple is SO restrictive, how come they have so many more apps than Android? I mean if Apple is SO restricting, shouldn't Android have caught up by now?

I see how that explains why people jail break their perfect phones and tablets right?

Also the reason the OS is on so many devices is because it can target so many more consumer demographics. Want to buy a budget phone on contract? You can with an Android OS because there are so many out there to choose from.

Is that why Android has almost 1/3rd more worldwide sales then iPhone?

I own both an iPad2 and a GalaxyTAB. Android is only new in tablets and their OS is already so much more flexible and usable.

Once the public catches up and realizes how good honeycomb is, android will dominate the tablet share just as well as they are destroying the mobile market.

I find it ironic that your first argument is the assumption I live at home with my mother. Projecting much?

Oh dear, I bet your mum just loves clearing up your room after you Robert.

Out here in the real world there is only 1 player in the tablet world and it ain't Android based yet kiddo.

You Android boys need to realise it doesn't matter how many copies of an OS are given away, it's how much cash you can make selling the shiny boxes built around them.

Biggest selling phone ? Biggest selling tablet ?

Reason ? Because people want something that works perfrectly out of the box and they don't need to spend weeks messing about, hacking, pimping, etc. Make it easy, everyone buys, make it hard only the core buy.
