]]> By: Frederick Lee http://www.slashgear.com/samsung-leads-the-way-to-wider-smartphones-all-around-17172503/#comment-131481 Frederick Lee Thu, 18 Aug 2011 12:57:00 +0000 http://www.slashgear.com/?p=172503#comment-131481 Call it a multimedia device and 5.3 inches doesn’t sound so bad.  Instead of holding the large screen to your face, wouldn’t it be better to use bluetooth devices when taking/making calls?  Other than that, better screens and more portability is always welcome.  Problem is, I can’t decide either which size is “best” — 4.3, 5.3, 6, or 7 inches — for a “portable” device.  The 4.3-inch PSP doesn’t seem to have any problems being carried around in pant pockets and such.  Don’t think anyone will be complaining about the screen size of the 5-inch Vita either.  At what size does a multimedia device cease to be “portable”?  Am looking for a portable HD-screened device for watching movies on-the-go.  If it can take calls as well so that I don’t have to carry around my iPhone, all the better. 
So…what size d’ya guys prefer for a “portable” device for watching movies? 4.3, 5.3, 6, or 7?  :)

But a 7 or 8 inch high resolution screen would be nice. My Archos70 only has 800×480 which is quite a limitation.

I much prefer the screen on my EVO 3d… Although It’s completely USELESS outdoors.. I.actually wish it was 4″ I’m getting blackberry thumb (rsd) in my thumb from trying to one-hand thumb type with it. Beast of a phone.. but.. beasts can be unwieldy..

On a side note: No, the Infuse 4G doesn’t have the brightest screen out there, not even the brightest AMOLED, the first one is held by Nokia E6, while the latter is Nokia’s X7!
