In many scenarios, such as this black-on-white page, Super AMOLED can use MORE power than LCD. The power benefit is there for colored icons on dark backgrounds, but net-net, the power is not a huge plus.

OTOH, their pentile layout makes fine text hard to read. Some color combo schemes like blue-on-white IIRC, have only half the effective resolution. Until they figure how to get smaller diodes this technology will not be optimal for text-oriented devices.

If Samsung had made a cheaper WiFi-only tab they could easily have tripled the sales. Let’s see if things will change with the next generation. Dual-core WiFi Tab with Honeycomb would be very hard to resist.

How do you explain Dual-core Orion with a GPU 5x faster than hummingbird chipset? Super Amoled is also pretty innovative I believe… A display to save energy to compromise greater usage from other hardware parts.

Samsung is not that innovative compared to other companies. What they had is the edge of taking specs to th e limit but with the competitive price. For example they match iPhone Specs and surpassed some of it yet they limit the price in such a way that buyers are tempted to get the cheaper option
