Samsung Galaxy Tab missing Verizon Skype app at launch

The absence of voice call support from the US carrier versions of the Samsung Galaxy Tab is frustrating enough – after all, the functionality is present on the European versions of the same Android slate – but with the news that Skype will be missing from the Verizon model it goes from bad to worse.  Engadget snagged shots of one of the carrier's internal training guides, which confirms that the Skype mobile, NFL Mobile and V CAST Video apps will all be missing from the Galaxy Tab when it initially launches.

Now, the wording of the text implies that the apps are still works-in-progress, and that they should eventually show up for download onto the Froyo slate.  Still, there's no official word from Verizon itself (nor Samsung) and no timescale for their release in the leaked guide, so we'll just have to wait and see.
