Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet will come in LTE version

Samsung seems intent on offering a tablet in just about every size that consumers might want. It has the 10.1-inch Galaxy Tab, a smaller 7-inch version and the 8.9-inch Tab crossed the FCC not long ago. We know that many of the tablets that are coming to market in the next few months will be packing LTE technology inside since LTE networks will be rolled out by several carriers. Word has surfaced that a LTE version of the 8.9-inch Galaxy Tab will be coming.

That isn't that big a deal for folks like me that are far away from an LTE coverage area and are likely facing years before LTE comes to their area. Even if you don't have LTE access, the Tab 8.9 will reportedly get a boost in some key specs in LTE flavor. One of the bumps is a faster processor according to reports.

The LTE version will get a 1.5GHz dual-core processor and will run Android 3.2 for the operating system. The Tab 8.9 will also feature a 3MP camera, a 1280 x 800 resolution 8.9-inch screen, and will weigh 455g. The tablet will be 8.6mm thick. There is a report that the tablet might turn up as early as August 29 at an event Samsung is having in NYC. If not then it's likely that IFA will be where the tablet gets official.
