Samsung Galaxy Tab 7-inch Android tablet breaks cover

Having heard only this morning that Samsung were planning a full three Android tablets for launch by the end of 2010, the South African Samsung team have just posted an image of what's said to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab.  Posing next to a Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy Tab apparently has a 7-inch display, "high-res" LCD TFT display and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Unfortunately, beyond that there's no new information of specifications.  From the image we can see there are basic buttons under the display – home, menu and back – and Samsung's TouchWiz UI obviously makes an appearance too.  There's what looks to be a microSD card icon in the status bar, together with the sort of no-signal symbol you see on Android devices when their 3G radios aren't connected.

That certainly implies integrated WWAN connectivity, and would fit in with talk that the tablet – previously tipped as the sPad – would launch in Korea this coming August in partnership with carrier SK Telecom.  The Samsung team also confirm it will see a South African launch.
