I’m a tech guy but not when it come to phones and tabs – but
I’ve been waiting for this device to come to the us – but hoping that Verizon
wouldn’t block the voice call capabilities – do you have a us version? Obviously
unblocked therefore $700 right? and where did you get your sim card – or what
service provider etc.?

I agree with the “buy it now” consensus. The dual core is more than fast enough, the screen is brilliant, and the battery will blow you away with longevitiy. The only thing that is missing is ICS, but that should be just a month or so (for the GSM version…not sure how long this Verizon LTE version will take for the upgrade)

I think he was just saying the international GSM version (P6800) vs the reviewed Verizon LTE version (i815).
The price on the LTE version is outrageous. Like Eleeflyguy43, I have the P6800 that I carry in my bag and use as my main device.
I don’t see why anyone would pay what Verizon is asking on contract for something they can’t call/text from. This goes for all non-iPad “bury our heads in the sand” tablet contracts.

I am not fanboy but prefer iPad to this device not for the hardware but for services that apple offers I like this tablet but why should i buy it with an incoming asus 7″ ips 1280×800 res (better ppi than this) and a quad core processor and, most important thing, a 249$ price tag?
It costs the half and it’s slightly better. Samsung just adds a super amoled display to make it cost 500 bucks with 2 year contract

I’m getting this 7.7 because it’s the best there is currently. If you keep waiting, you’ll never be buying anything, and you’ll always worry about being obsolete. You just need to buy what’s best at the moment and be happy with it until your next purchase a year or two later. No point in keeping up with the frenzied month to month change in technology. I bought a Galaxy S2 and I know it’s going to keep me happy for at least 2 years.

Sorry, i like the full web experience. I will never use a device without flash support. I’ve used the ipad and got sick of it when you can’t use your favorite website because it doesn’t support flash. I’m surprised people put up with it.

just wait a year and you will have even better tablets out. The 7.7 is an amazing tablet, best display in the market period. I dont see other brands coming close to it. Get it now and enjoy it or you will be waiting and stressing about technology. I kept checking tablets and phones for a while wasting my time until i finally decided on the 7.7 and a galaxy s2 phone, now i dont worry about it anymore…what a relief, i dont care what comes six months from now, what i have right now is awesome.

Fanboyism at its worst. You didn’t even bother to compare battery life across devices. The iPhone 4S gets worse battery life than the S2 and the iPad 2 is also worse than the 7.7 in the same department.

In other words, you’re not saying battery life is your concern.It’s the brand that is.

I’ve just taken delivery of a Galaxy Tab 7.7 3g. My first tablet. And I am 70 years and live in London. What a brilliant device!!! Takes a bit of finding your way around, but it seems to do everything, including the washing up today ;-) Wonderful!! Then the icing on the cake is to match it with the Samsung Keyboard Dock. Apart from enabling serious typing, you can use the dock as a mouse to operate the Tab 7.7. Stunning, quite stunning!!

Android OS is the battery killer from day one. Same as Flash, they are constantly resources hunger and Dual Core, Quad Core is still not enough. I rather spend that money to get and iPad 2/3 or wait for Windows8′s tablets.

I’ve owned the original 7” Galaxy Tab since last April, but now I’m ready to upgrade. But I’m stymied… should I go for this 7.7” LTE, or wait 6 months for the quad-core tablets to begin appearing. That’s my quandry. I feel this 7.7 incher would fill my current needs, but in 6 months, will I think it’ll be obsolete again! Things are changing way too quickly for my 67 year old body to keep up with!

love my P6800 7.7 unlocked 3g with voice. i can swap out the sim on my smartphone and not pay additional data plans for a second device
