Yes Tegra 2 is garbage for high profile video playback. I thought for sure Samsung was going to use it's own Xenos dual core. I stayed away from all Tegra 2 tabs and waited for this Samsung only to be shocked that it is also using the garbage Tegra 2. Now I have to wait even longer, I have no idea what Samsung was thinking.

The hardware is substantially upgraded from the 7'' model, therefore we should expect a higher price. I do hope that Samsung shows some sense and this time offers a 3G-free option. It makes even more sense for a large tablet that is not meant to be a phone replacement: most people who need Internet on the go already have it through their smart phones.

It is likely that Sammy would rely again on selling in bulk to the telcos and letting them figure out how to bring the product to consumers, but I doubt that this strategy will work well in competition with all other tablets that will have more flexible offerings.

In Korea, there's so many noise about Tegra 2 because Lg Optimus 2X the first Tegra 2 handset was released few weeks ago. It comes out that Tegra 2 doesn's support H.264 with High-profile and Weighted Prediction. It means you cannot play almost HD H.264 video files. Many geeks around me are really worrying about Honeycomb tablet which currently only use Tegra 2. of course video support is just one function of tablet, but it's not pleasant.
