Another Galaxy S10 model tipped (that makes 5)

There's a little bit of a leak today that has some relatively big implications for Samsung. In addition to the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, and S10 Edge, and S10 Plus, and Galaxy S10 5G (or whatever they'll all be called), there's apparently another phone in the family. Revealed in a leak this week, there would appear to be a Verizon exclusive Samsung Galaxy S10 5G – with very similar set of specifications and a name that's probably mostly the same – save one very important difference.

Samsung Galaxy S10 Bolt

The Samsung Galaxy S10 Bolt – as it appears to be code-named – will likely be aimed directly at Verizon. A Verizon exclusive smartphone generally means one of two things. Either the device was manufactured on behalf of Verizon (that's not true here), or the device has some special branding feature.

Big Fat Battery

In the past, Samsung's released smartphones exclusive to Verizon with features that revolve around their battery. Using key terms like "Charge," Samsung Verizon exclusives have largely focused on how much better their batteries are – or how much longer they'll last on a single charge. With the DROID Charge from 2011, Samsung brought a smartphone that was thick with battery capacity – but it was also just the 2nd 4G LTE smartphone carried by the brand.

Specifications

The Samsung Galaxy S10 will be split into a collection of smartphones in the first and second quarters of the year 2019. In the first quarter we're expecting the Samsung Galaxy S10 Lite, S10 Edge, and S10 Plus. As it is with these sorts of things, these details are not yet official, nor were any of them released by Samsung as yet. These bits of information come from the various leaks and insider tips we've received or reported on over the last several weeks and months.

We're expecting a February 20th, 2019 reveal of the Samsung Galaxy S10 family, starting with the first three non-5G models listed above. The Samsung Galaxy S10 5G (codename Beyond X) will likely be released in the second quarter of the year, while we're expecting the three 4G models to have a release date of March 8th, 2019, or thereabouts.
