This thing still packs a punch to it. I don’t understand why its disappointing? Samsung is just making a more affordable product. Apple is doing the same with the iPad mini. But I’m sure everyone will go nuts over that and people will say it’s the next best thing.

Except that its NOT really a MIni version of the S3. It just looks like a mini version. It doesn’t share any specs with the S3. If it had at least the same chip+RAM with a smaller display, it’d be fair to name it S3 Mini.. in its current form, its just a sham aimed at making a quick buck by leading uninformed/gullible buyers into thinking its a smaller, cheaper version of the S3. Its just a smaller lookalike.

Any salesperson will tell the buyer, this is the mini version of this other better device. PROBLEM SOLVED! TEACH THE EMPLOYEES!!! lol

I feel both arguments trust me. I at first hated the announcement of the GS3 MINI because I do not want the dillution (for example there is only one iPhone 5) to begin but I didn’t find anything wrong with it’s design apart from the fact that it’s called a Galaxy and lack of LTE, lowered spec and everything else. The name Galaxy should belong to the most powerfull devices in Samsung’s portfolio. Not this….

I can lecture you on choice all you want. This is not about choice, this is about a hugely confusing lineup and constant flooding of the marketplace with similarly named devices and incremental changes. How many Ace models are there, how many S models are there? Advance, Plus, Alpha, Beta, Theta, Sigma.. WTF..!? It gets too annoying after a point and the Galaxy brand doesn’t mean shit anymore as it could very well be some $100 low end phone which stutters and lags like hell but has the Galaxy name stuck on the back.

I see a TON of differences between the S3 and the Mini and that’s the exact reason I said there’s nothing in common to call this device a Galaxy S3 Mini.. call it Galaxy Mini or some shit.. but not S3 Mini. If it had the same internals as the S3, with a smaller display, then it would make sense to call it that.

And before trying to educate me on “how to read”, you should probably sign up for a “how to comprehend” & “how to make sense” course.

Really? The two devices are very similar? In what way exactly? Apart from that they both run Android and follow the same design language? A Galaxy S3 Mini would mean it shares most of the S3 specs in a smaller package. This shares nothing with the S3. Its just misleading marketing crap.
I very well know what “Mini” means. What you need to realize is, a Merc A class is not a Mini Merc S class.. and calling it a Merc S Mini would be blunderous. Anyway, enough time wasted talking about a device that’s not even worth it.

If you don’t know anything about phones… you *SHOULD* be confused. You *WILL* already buy the wrong phone. This new device didn’t “force” you to be confused. You already admit not knowing what you are doing.

I like “choice”. The more, the better. Maybe *YOU* only like 1 device. I have many favorites. And millions of people like something very different from both of us.

If you only like 1 out of 10 Samsung’s devices. Don’t buy those 9.

Maybe we should only have 1 brand/model of car. 1 type of boat. 1 type of house. That way no one will be “mislead” or “confused.”

If you plan on buying a phone and you don’t see ANY difference between the S3 and the Mini… maybe you shouldn’t be buying a phone. Maybe you should use the money to purchase glasses, or education courses on “how to read.”

Why the hell call it Galaxy S III Mini? It has absolutely NOTHING to do with the S3 apart from looking like a midget version of it. Talk about misleading uninformed buyers who’ll think this is a smaller version of the S3.
They also released a Galaxy Premier with some strange specs. Who really buys these phones and based on what? I would need a notebook if I had to list all Samsung models released in the last 24 months. The naming convention is even more atrange, calling a mid-range device “Premier” and a low end device “Ace” .. wtv..
