yeh 7mm with a bulging end. Why is it that for cellphones they can get away with using the thinnest point as a selling point, but for laptops they don't say, OH, Macbook Air is only .16inches.

Don't get me wrong. Those are fabulous features, but phones aren't desktops. Desktops and laptops as a matter of fact have failed to achieve any kind of material innovation because of Intel's near-monopoly choke hold over the chipset and CPU market.

If all we're going to do with phones is bump up specs for the next 10-15 years and up the megapixels, that's disappointing. It was already a huge achievement not too long ago to bring super nice GPSes and turn-by-turn navigation maps by Google. Mobile internet on the go on a handheld is also something that was considered pretty damn new not too long ago. Need I go on with mentioning Super AMOLED+ screens, flash memory, and nice cameras? Those were all innovations when they were first introduced. They wowed the crowds and drove sales.

My point isn't to bash. I'm just saying that with each new generation, it'd be nice if Samsung could really start leading the pack by introducing something new. And I mean game-changing. Flexible OLED screens are one area where Samsung could *REALLY* give everyone a run for the money. But that might be far off. One other concept that comes to mind is perhaps a super bright projector? It might be expensive for early adopters, but there's been talk of putting mini-projectors on phones for a while. Can't deny they're the precursors to future holograms.

Just my $0.02 really. :)

I just think it's a pretty ridiculous thing to ask for, it is a phone, and while it's also meant to be a multimedia device it's not meant to replace a real camera for professional photography, it's meant to replace the point and shoot that you use to take pictures of the milk flying out of your friends nose in the cafeteria. I see where you're coming from with the mp3 player/laptop concept but it's a different case. These smartphones are meant to replace mp3 players, laptops, and basic point and shoot cameras. An LED flash is sufficient for that, if you need a xenon flash you're taking it much more seriously than the OEMs are planning for you to do.

Yes have a led light for video & flash light & a xenon flash for the camera.

Saying get a professional camera is a silly thing to say, it like saying its a phone so carry a seperate MP3 player to listen to music & carry a laptop to get on the internet. Its a Smartphone for a reason. I no you will not get professional photos but good night time photos will be helped by a xenon flash instead of a led light for photo taking.

The iPhone is too small but I agree that 4.5" and above is way to big. I have the original Galaxy S and that's the perfect size.
I hope they don't follow in Apple/Motorola's footsteps and take away the user replaceable battery. My carrier offers free battery swap, I can go into a store and get a fresh battery for my phone without paying a dime. My carrier offers free battery swap, I can go into a store and get a fresh battery for my phone without paying a dime. I also don’t like how big these screens are getting; 4.5″ is just too big for a phone, the original Galaxy S was just right with a 4″ screen, I understand they had to make some changes because of the new pixel layout but they don’t need to get any bigger than they are now.

Let's hope that ICS can take advantage of the quad-core processor, especially when it comes to the extra core for less power consumption during down times. I also agree with the others that Samsung should make the phone a little thicker if it means significantly more battery power. You don't want to alienate first time buyers by selling a second version a few months later with more battery life.

anything samsung should copy from apple is..... dont bother too much for the product done well and made well.....
hell sell same phone with a speed bump and it will sell well...
but... in my head,
1: no more than 4.3" screen
2: should be QHD atleast
3: should be exynos 1.5
4: bump ram a little for any editing tasks. otherwise 1 gb is fine.
5: fix the dam camera, its good but have so many issues.
6: bump the battery a notch and maintain the thiness, no need to go for razor thin.
7: razor maxx kinda thing also welcomed as a option.

I can't understand people who are dying for bigger ( screen ) phones. I was so sick of carrying a big brick ( HTC HD2 ) in my pocket at all times. I remember myself in summer, I was leaving my phone at home not to sweat much! Thanks god that phone passed a way.

Samsung should be also developing iphone sized phones.
