For years digital cameras were all about the megapixels, with the assumption being that the more megapixels a camera could produe pics in the better the camera. In fact there are a ton of other features which are far more important than large numbers of megapixels (sensor, motion balance and shutter speed being three important ones). Add to that that the great majority of people take pictures in some kind of medium setting that never comes close to using the full megapixel range their camera’s are capable of (mainly because the picture files are quite large when you do and most folks have little need for such large files). The average consumer doesn’t bother to learn, so when OEMs quote megapixels, the large number sounds impressive and the sheep ignorantly assume that that means better, when it often isn’t. In the camera world they eventually figured it out. It seems like we are starting to see a repeat of that in smartphones. That is the point I was trying t make.

The Galaxy Nexus was officially listed as 679€ and the Note even as 699€. 
So I’d say ~600€ for Samsung’s new flagship is pretty reasonable and prices will come down over time anyway.

This time around samsung has to make the carriers have only 2 models (a gsm and cdma) and allow updates before carrier approves via kies/odin.. Anyhow my galaxy s ii i9100 had absolutely zero bugs that hindered the phone unusable. Do you think iphones are free of bugs to? hahah ok..

You may be able to take a 9000 megapixel camera but if it has a mediocre sensor it isn’t going to look any better than the 10 megapixel camera with the same sensor. We’re at the point really where sensors/speed are more important than a megapixel race will be.
