as much as i like my 4.3 sg2 i dont see my self buying such a huge device. instead of making such a huge display, they should have concentrated on making powerful and smaller batteries. they will not provide high mAh battery for this phone, maybe at least 2000 mAh.

Why not smooth it out? Because if they did, they couldn’t claim “thinnest!”.

Maybe there should be a truth-in-marketing standard that if you claim your phone is 7mm thin, it should be able to pass through a 7.01 mm slot and not get stuck on its camera bulge?

They are making the batteries stronger for their size every year. You can still have a thin phone with battery life. Don’t expect phones to last more than a day and a half. That’s because they have huge screens and heaps of computing power. Charging your phone while you sleep is no big task.

I hate the idea of a bulge. Why slim it down so much when the camera can’t be changed. The bulge is so unflattering and not form fitting and awkward looking. Why not smooth out the back and increase the battery size to fill that space

you dont need a high Mpx cam if the quality sucks. i would rather have a mind blowing 3Mpx cam than a super bad 12mpx

I fully agree something sucks! I finally switched from an iPhone 3GS to the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, and I love it! iPhones are so retarded, without any speed like 4G/LTS, nor Super-AMOLED+ display. Yes even the iPhone 4S!

Whereas the Samsung is so quick, intuitive and functional.

Variety is the spice of life.

When is the iPhone 5 coming out already? Until then, it’s vaporware. Nice choice you made.

Ridiculous!

But the the reason they made it 4.8″ is probably because they could not make an RGB HD screen smaller. The reason Galaxy S II was 4.3(4.27 to be exact) is because it was an RGB Super AMOLED and that was the smallest size they could manufacture.

Still, 4.8″ is just too much. Not interested.

I hope rumors of a design with super small bezels are true so they can fit 4.8″ onto a more compact size phone than the GSII otherwise these phones will be getting too big for most people.

I don’t think the slimness of the phone has much to do with being able to hold it but rather the shape. A better shape is the one Xperia Arc uses as it doesn’t slip from your hand like the SGS2. I have found that a case makes all the difference though :-)
