Samsung Galaxy S II LTE with 4.5-inch Display Coming to IFA 2011

Remember those videos we showed you a few days ago displaying what Samsung was teasing as their next BIG thing, this next big thing coming out at their IFA 2011 "Samsung Unpacked" and appearing very much to be an upgrade of the Samsung Galaxy S II? Turns out that's more than likely the truth, as SammyHub say's they've "confirmed" with Samsung that IFA 2011 will play host to a 1.5 GHz dual-core Samsung Galaxy S II with LTE capabilities and a lovely new form factor.

Now we're normally pretty willing to trust SammyHub when it comes down to it, but the way this story is written doesn't appear to hold QUITE as much water as we'd normally expect from a source that says it's speaking directly with Samsung. On the other hand, the specs that are now being listed do line up pretty darn close with what we know as the Samsung Celox, a Galaxy S II variant that lives in Korea and bumps the 4.3-inch display of the original Galaxy S II up to a 4.5-inch display, has a 1.5GHz dual-core snapdragon processor, and has, yes indeed, a 4G LTE radio installed.

What this new version of the Galaxy S II (we're not sure what it'll be called, by the way), will be the world's first LTE/WCDMA/GSM multi-mode phone. That's fabulous on it's own. Next this version will, again, feature a 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, have a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor of unknown origin (we'd expect another EXYNOS, or a bumped-up version of the same processor it had originally, that is,) NFC capabilities, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 8 megapixel camera with flash on the back, and of course a monstrous 1850mAh battery to finish off the pie.

But wait, wasn't the Verizon Galaxy S II cut?

We know that inside the Samsung Unpacked app there's several names mentioned for products, those being the Galaxy Tab 7.7, something called a Galaxy Note, and a Wave 3. We know that the Unpacked videos also feature the phrase "Sketches of Your Desire" so we can pretty safely assume they're speaking about the Galaxy Note, more than likely a stylus pen-toting device of some sort, the Wave 3 more than likely carrying Bada OS, and the Galaxy Tab 7.7 we already know about quite well – though we did expect an 8.9 Galaxy Tab to be truthful.
