Also if you watched Google I/O 2011 keynote you’d know that Google created a deal with major vendors to support all new devices with 18 months of support and software updates. I understand your feelings, I use to have HTC Hero. We waited for almost a year for 2.1 update and it came so flawed that I rooted my phone and went with CyanogenMod.

Slowly things are improving in terms of updates.

Ok, so I have a mobile Wimax service (and home service) that uses Clear’s towers.

But if I buy this phone…I can’t use that account.

I have to get a Sprint account…which will then use these same towers…at a cost of $80+ in addition to the $30+ I already pay for Clear.

Sprints. it connects to sprints side of the Sprint/Clearwire partnership/network.

it is a cell phone. so you have to have a cellular +data plan for the phone that is separate from your data card. The Data on the phone might go through clearwire’s towers but proxied ontop of the sprint account the phone is connected to.

My Samsung Epic 4G runs Gingerbread. You’re doing something wrong.

The point is moot any way, since Samsung sent Galaxy S2s to the Cyanogen team, so you’ll have the latest Android from them (better support than any carrier) any way.
