As of right now I am disconnecting my service with Tmobile. They are not reliable when it comes to customer satisfaction and the same goes for Samsung, I will never buy another of their phones. You pay good money for your phone yet they keep you waiting for the most important update...that's bs...I'm done with Tmobile and Samsung. Effective tomorrow my galaxy s2 is being thrown away, yes thrown away, and I am buying the iPhone and signing up with Verizon. I refuse to be a sucker consumer anymore for Tmobile and Samsung!

This is a US carrier decision -not Samsung. Carriers want to force people to upgrade and renew. they will wait till the GS 3 is out and enough GS2 customers pay for the early upgrade and contract renewal before allowing ICS to prolong the life of the GS2

How come the US is always so, slow for anything mobile related? Really far behind the rest of the world. Guess it's your carriers fault. Here in Hong Kong, we got the ICS update on March 19th, if I recall correctly. Love my Samsung Galaxy S2 and can't wait for the Galaxy S3.

Never owned a Samsung smart phone until I bought SGS2 on TMobile, never owned an android phone until I purchased SGS2. That being said I cannot in good faith give either Samsung or Android any endorsement. Between the fragmentation and carriers insistence to bring new phones to market without updating current phones is mind boggling. Yeah, yeah, some of you say root the phone. just so I can void my warranty and load a rom that may or may not have all the features working properly. I refuse to get an iPhone and I left windows phone because of the same lack of customer care that this fragmented, carrier dominated, platforms. Hopefully windows phone and HTC has gotten their acts together.

Two things to consider

1. There is no unbranded GS2 sold in the US (all unbranded units are imported from outside of US)
2. Carrier, Carrier, Carrier

Like other companies are any better.

Other manufacturers are actually worse than Samsung on updates, so even though Samsung is not as fast as you want them to be, they're still faster than everyone else.

You would be stupid not to get a Samsung.

People should stop buying Samsung products. One they anyways copy from apple and Motorola and two they really don't care for their users once they have a nw product to launch. I was a fool not to my friends when they told me not but gs2 because of the way they treated galaxy a users. Now with gs3 releasing I know they'll stop supporting their gs3 users as well once they have a new product to launch.
Shame on you Samsung
